About the Executives
Hi everyone! We are so excited to welcome you to another season with the Western Women’s Flag Football Club.
Our executive team is led by President Victoria D’Alessandro, a PhD student in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences and Physical Therapy, and Vice-President Sonya Demidenok, an Honours Psychology student at King’s University College.
Together with the rest of the executive team, we are committed to creating a welcoming, supportive, and competitive environment for all members. Whether you have played football for years or are trying the sport for the first time, we want everyone to feel included and have the opportunity to learn, develop, and build lasting friendships.
Being part of the WWFFC is about more than what happens on the field. It is about becoming part of a strong community that supports one another, celebrates each other’s successes, and shares a passion for growing women’s football.
We cannot wait to meet our new members, welcome back our returning players, and get another exciting season underway!
Past Events
The Western Women’s Flag Football Club is a member of the Ontario Women’s Intercollegiate Football Association (OWIFA), which partners with Football Ontario to provide competitive opportunities for women’s university flag football teams across the province.
We compete annually in both 11v11 and 5v5 OWIFA competitions and are proud to be three-time 11v11 Provincial Champions and three-time 5v5 Provincial Champions. Our success in the 5v5 provincial championships has earned us a place at a the nationals tournament each year, where we represent Western and compete against teams from across Canada.
The WWFFC is more than a team—we are a family both on and off the field. Throughout the year, we host team socials and other activities that allow members to build friendships and strengthen their connections beyond football. At the end of each season, we come together for our annual banquet to celebrate the team’s accomplishments and recognize members for their hard work, dedication, leadership, and contributions to the Club.
