Roundnet Club
Description
Welcome to the Western Roundnet Club! Now, you may be wondering, what is Roundnet? Roundnet is the official term for the sport that is more commonly known as Spikeball. Roundnet is played 2v2 and is described to be a fusion of four square and volleyball on steroids.
By joining the Western Roundnet Club you can attend weekly pick-ups, where students will have the opportunity to play many games of Roundnet with multiple different people, participate in Roundnet clinics, which will focus on developing skills or strategies with an instructor, compete in intra-Club tournaments, and have a blast at our Club social events. We will be having our weekly pick ups and events outdoors in the fall term and plan to move indoors in the winter term.
Whether you’ve never heard of it in your life, played it casually in your backyard or at the beach, or eat, sleep, and breathe Roundnet, all are welcome to our Club! Join us this year and see what Roundnet is all about!

About the President
Hello! My name is Jake Choi and I am the 2023-2024 President for the Western Roundnet Club! I am currently in Computer Science and Math at Western University, and I am one of the founding members of this Club. I have been playing Roundnet competitively for the past 2 summers, and I am also a part of the Forest City Roundnet Club here in London. I’m ecstatic to get this Club up and running this year alongside my amazing Execs, and we cannot wait to welcome you to the first year of the Western Roundnet Club. We hope that you decide to join our Club to hit a ball onto a round trampoline looking thing! I can’t wait to meet you all!
Events
- WRC “To The Top” Tournament: A tournament where you register without a partner (ie. an Individual’s tournament). This tournament is organized in a way where you play with multiple different partners and attempt to climb your way to the top of the group by winning as many games with multiple different people throughout the day. Depending on the number of registration, this tournament can be split into multiple divisions including advanced/expert (an open division), intermediate (an open division), and a women’s division.
- WRC Open Tournament: A tournament where one must register with a partner. This will be a full day event with multiple pool play games in the morning and a single elimination playoff bracket in the afternoon. (Open to all. WRC members will be charged a discounted rate.)
- Post-tourney Celebrations: This may include going out to eat at a restaurant or a social gathering.
- Social Gatherings: This will be an opportunity for members to get to know each other outside of Roundnet. This may be a bowling night at Fleetway, a climbing session at Junction/J2, or a dinner gathering at a restaurant.
