Fall 2026 Intramural Registration Opens September 9
Looking for a great way to stay active, meet new people and get involved at Western this fall? Campus Recreation Intramural Sports are back for Fall 2026, with registration opening Wednesday, September 9 at 8 a.m. Intramurals offer Western students and Campus Recreation members the chance to enjoy friendly competition in a fun, inclusive environment, with recreational and competitive options available across a wide range of sports. This fall's lineup includes badminton, ball hockey, basketball, 3-on-3 basketball, Unified Basketball, beach volleyball, dodgeball, flag football, ice hockey, inner-tube water polo, pickleball, slo-pitch, 3-pitch, 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 soccer, spikeball, ultimate frisbee and volleyball. WSRC/Thompson/Engineering/South Valley Parking Lot Construction - ACCESS NOTICE - CLOSED AUG 25
Western has started construction on the Utility & Tunnel Renewal project in the Alumni/Thompson parking lot. A temporary entrance and exit to the lot, off of Western Road, is now open for accessible parking only. ACCESS NOTICE FOR TUESDAY, AUGUST 25: Please be advised that the Western Road/WSRC/Engineering Upper parking lot access will be CLOSED to vehicular traffic on Tuesday, August 25 while the City of London completes curb work as part of the Western Road/Philip Aziz Drive construction project. Additional parking is available in the South Valley Huron parking lots. All Western parking rules apply. Campus Recreation Closed Aug 31-Sept 4 for Student Staff Training
Campus Recreation and the Western Student Recreation Centre will be closed starting Monday, August 31 for our annual week of student staff training. Facilities and programming inside the WSRC will close on Sunday, Aug 30, 2026 at 5pm and reopen on Saturday, September 5 at 9:00am. (Read full entry)

Campus Recreation - 2026 Western Staff/Faculty Summer Membership Offer
This summer, Western Campus Recreation has an incredible special membership offer for Western faculty and staff. Unlimited access to the Western Student Recreation Centre - WSRC - gyms, cardio, equipment, weights, drop-in sports, and pool - note: Pool opens May 11. Membership is valid May 9 - Aug 30, 2026. Western Campus Recreation - Planned Maintenance Closures, May 2026
Western Campus Recreation will be completing its annual facility maintenance and upgrades in early May at the Western Student Recreation Centre (WSRC). Closure Schedule: WSRC Building: May 4–8, 2026; Pool: May 1–10, 2026. Service Interruption Notice: Outdoor Stairs beside WSRC
Western University will be closing the south staircase (beside WSRC) between the South Valley Parking Lot and the Alumni/Thompson Parking Lot from April 27 to August 28, 2026. Pedestrians will be detoured to the north staircase. This closure is required in order to improve services to multiple campus buildings by constructing a new service corridor for campus utilities, and to allow excavation for new and temporary services required for continuous utility operations on campus.
