Craig Henshaw Philanthropy Award


Awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the second, third or fourth year of any Visual Arts program (with a minimum 70% average), who exhibits the qualities of leadership, community spirit and citizenship through extra-curricular activities; who exhibits a generosity of spirit; and who is generally regarded as contributing positively to the experience of fellow students, staff and faculty in the Department of Visual Arts.

A faculty or staff member in the Department of Visual Arts or a fellow student, must submit to the Department of Visual Arts by September 30, a one page statement of nomination that details how the nominee participates in extra-curricular activities as a leader at the departmental or university level, and demonstrates the above values. The recipient will be selected by a committee convened by the Associate Dean (Academic) of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

This award was established with Foundation Western by Craig Henshaw (BA Honors Visual Arts '99, BEd '00) ), who was known as a "nice guy" during his time at Western and who believes strongly in the importance of philanthropy, dedication, and community spirit.
