January 2023 Student Staff Recognition

The Campus Recreation Student Staff Recognition Award pays tribute to the amazing student staff who work so hard and make strong contributions to Western Campus Recreation. We are able to do so much more with our incredible student staff, and we are very grateful for their efforts, enthusiasm and hard work from the following areas:

Why do you enjoy working at Campus Recreation and in the Western Student Recreation Centre (WSRC)?

Getting to greet and meet such a diverse population of members while having an on-campus job that is extremely accommodating and flexible with school schedules

What are the best parts about your position?

Getting to interact with so many people while also creating lifelong friendships with other staff members

What is your favourite way to be active?

Early morning WSRC workouts!

Coming to the rec every morning!

I have a younger sister who works at Laurier’s gym

What Year and Program are you in?

Third-year of Honours Specialization in Integrated Science with Biology

What are the best parts about your position?

I love getting to know the regular patrons who come in to swim as well as the teams that come to practice! The pool was such a big part of my life for so long and so I love being able to come in in the mornings before we start/evenings after we close and seeing it quite before/after the day. It makes me really happy!  

What is your favourite way to be active?

Swimming and I love to walk everywhere I can
