January 2022 Opening
Please note all of this information may be subject to change in accordance with Provincial Guidelines and MLHU Recommendations.
In alignment with new provincial measures announced on January 20, 2022, Western Campus Recreation will reopen the WSRC on January 31 at 50% capacity.
Hours of operations will be as follows:
- Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM - 11:30PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM – 11:30 PM
Before entering the WRSC, students must reserve/book a scheduled workout time and follow Western's protocols for being on-campus. Reservations will also be used for drop-in badminton, basketball, squash courts, lane swim, jogging, and skating.
Reservations can be made one day in advance with ONE BOOKING PER PERSON PER DAY. Standby registrations will occur at the Membership Services desks. Facility cleaning and sanitization will occur between workout blocks. Members will be suspended for seven (7) days if cancellation is not completed in time.
Coinciding with Western’s Health and Safety Plan, masks must be worn at all times while indoors, including while engaged in activity, as well as outdoors when physical distancing is not possible.
Campus Recreation will operate with a hybrid programming model, continuing to offer Live Digital Fitness Classes on IGTV and a special live weekly online Zumba digital class for the campus community. In-person group fitness classes will tentatively be offered beginning February 28, 2022. Winter Intramural Sports and Recreation Clubs participants will be contacted directly with more information and potential start dates.
General changerooms will be available with capacity limits so please limit your socialization time. Showers and day-use lockers only will be available. We strictly ask that you do not bring bags into our fitness and activity spaces.
