Ame Henderson

Please join us for a talk by Choreographer (Toronto), Artistic Director of Public Recordings, and AGO Artist-in-Residence.

Ame Henderson (Toronto) stewards the collaborative entity Public Recordings, an atelier for choreographic experimentation. Recent research focuses on the political implications of the synchronous gesture and its potential as a collaboratively authored improvisatory practice of togetherness. Public Recordings recently presented what we are saying as part of Harbourfront’s World Stage at The Power Plant (Toronto) and Festival Transmériques (Montreal). Henderson is the current artist in residence at the Art Gallery of Ontario (Summer/Fall 2014) where her project rehearsal/performance investigates the history of live performance at the AGO. The project culminates in a 12-hour durational rehearsal for Nuit Blanche on Oct 4, 2014 ( Henderson is an associate dance artist of Canada's National Arts Centre.
