For all missed course work in the summer term due to illness continue to use the illness reporting  tool – no medical documentation required. Work with your instructor on the next steps. All other absences need supporting documentation and approval through Academic advising at  scibmsac@uwo.ca

Academic Consideration Requests during the April exam period: If you are ill you must use the illness reporting  tool the day of your illness and contact your instructor for academic consideration. You do not need to contact Academic advising for approval.

Student Central has gone virtual. For assistance please use their virtual help system.

Late drops: will be accepted until April 3  - for full-year and half-year courses. Please ensure you understand the new grading scheme before dropping as you may disadvantage yourself with a drop.

Intersession/Summer Courses: Where possible, all Western intersession and summer courses will be offered online. Please check with the department to determine if the course you are interested will be offered.

Update on the Faculty of Science's current virtual operations and practices.

Update March 18, 2020

Beginning March 18, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. all Western students are asked to use a new, online Student Illness Reporting Tool to track and monitor illnesses, whether the illness impacts the submission of course work or not. This tool takes the place of the need to submit a medical note and the Self-Reported Absence System used by undergraduate students.

Our office is currently open, but closed for walk-in traffic.

In the interest of the health and safety of students and staff, our office will be available for email and phone consultations only. No walk-ins. Please email us a detailed description of your situation/question and be sure to include your phone number and student number to scibmsac@uwo.ca  Please see your email for updates from the Dean of Science and the President.

We are still open but would prefer contact over email ( scibmsac@uwo.ca) or through our drop-box at this time.

If you are ill please stay home and email us. Drop-in is still available but if you would prefer a phone appointment it is possible. Booked appointments will be by phone.

Please note, mo medical notes are required for missed course work for the remainder of the term but you will need to report your illness and get in touch with your instructor.

Academic Considerations not already processed for final exams are currently on hold until we determine what is happening with the final exam situation. More information will follow soon.
