COVID-19 Information
In November 2022, based on consultations with our medical experts and local public health, we revoked our vaccination policy and no longer require students, employees, and visitors to be vaccinated. Western strongly encourages masking in crowded indoor spaces like large classes. Medical-grade masks continue to be available for free in libraries and some of our largest classrooms. Please visit our FAQs page for additional information.
Coming to campus?
COVID-19 Self-Assessment: All students and employees are asked to complete the provincial COVID-19 self-assessment tool if they have any symptoms of illness or tested positive for COVID-19.
- Employees: If you are unwell or are required to self-isolate as a result of direction obtained from a COVID-19 Self-Assessment, please fill out the absence notification tool daily.
- Undergraduate students: If you are required to self-isolate as a result of direction obtained from a COVID-19 Self-Assessment, please do so. If you are not able to complete your remote learning or attend campus for an in-person assessment or final exam, please contact your home Faculty Academic Counselling Office to request academic considerations.
- Students in the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Education, Ivey Business School, and School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies: If you require academic considerations because you cannot attend campus for a required in-person assessment or final exam due to illness or self-isolation, request Academic Considerations via the usual process for your faculty.
