BESc Mechanical Engineering

After spending 10 years, working as a Professional Engineer in industry, it was a huge shift and joy to return to academia – to be a part of where it all starts for students. Helping students navigate their path to success is a passion of mine. Students are the bloodline of Western and I am honoured to be a part of the Western tradition of making it the best student experience by providing students with a safe place in Western Science Academic Counselling to discuss their struggles, joys and triumphs as they navigate their academic world.

Diploma in Animal Health Technology; BSc in Statistics

I have a Diploma in Animal Health Technology from Centralia College of Agricultural Technology and a BSc in Statistics from the University of Western Ontario. I worked for several years as an Animal Health Technician in Small Animal and Mixed Animal Practices as well as in Research. I also taught Animal Health Technology for a few years at C.C.A.T. I have been working full time at Western since 2000. I started out working in the Office of the Registrar before I started working as an Academic Counsellor in the Faculty of Science in 2005. I have always enjoyed working with young people and problem-solving so the combination of the two seemed to be a perfect fit for a career as an Academic Counsellor.

Honors BSc in Biology; MSc in Biology; Bachelor of Education

After completing my BSc and MSc in Biology, I pursued a BEd at Western University and worked as a high school teacher for several years. I came back to Western University in 2012 as an Admissions and Liasion Officer before joining the Science & Basic Medical Science Academic Counselling team in 2015. I have always enjoyed helping students shape their future and guiding them along their chosen path. While that path is winding, it is always rewarding to see it all come together as students achieve their academic goals.

BA in History/Sociology; Master of Library and Information Science

I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Western University with a BA in History/Sociology in 2010 and a Master of Library and Information Science in 2014. I began working in Science Academic Counselling at Western in the fall of 2014 as an academic counselling assistant; began working as an academic counsellor in the fall of 2015. Western's academic counselling played an integral role in helping me to succeed during both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I am happy to now be able to provide the same service and assist current students to succeed in the completion of their undergraduate degrees.

Academic Counselling Assistant

BSc in Biology

I have been part of the Western Science community since 1994, when I started my first undergraduate year. For ten years I worked in a research lab at Western, and now I am proud to be a part of the Science Academic Counselling team. I believe a good education is the basis for a successful future, not only in terms of a career, but also for one's various roles in the community. I want students to have the best experience possible at Western, and I am happy to have the opportunity to be a part of that equation.
