Student Parking Permits
If you are a student on campus who is also employed by Western (TA, RA, etc.), your student status overrides any Employee status. Students in this position are eligible for a student permit, not an Employee permit.
Student permits are limited and are sold based on available space. We encourage students living in residence or close to campus to forego bringing a vehicle to campus.
The 2026 Summer Term (May 1 to August 31) parking permits are available for purchase on March 15th 2026.
The upcoming Annual student parking permits (September 1 2026 - August 31 2027) and Fall term student parking permits (September 1 2026 - December 31 2026) are scheduled to be available for sale online on June 15 2026 at 12:01AM.
Parking Portal
The Green Non-Reserved (GNR) Student permit provides parking within Green Student Zone parking lots throughout Western. With an active GNR Student parking permit, any vehicle linked to one may park 24/7 within these parking lots.
Any number of vehicles can be linked to the permissions of a parking permit however only one vehicle can actively use the parking permit permissions at a time.
Periodically student permit holders are given access to additional parking lots on a temporary basis due to special events and construction on campus. Permit holders are asked to obey posted signage as lot access schedules are subject to change.
Student permits can be purchased online once you've set-up a Parking Account.
Students are reminded that purchasing Parking Permits through any third-party source (Kijiji, TikTok, Facebook Marketplace etc.) is contrary to Parking Regulations and students could be held responsible for any tickets associated with the permit they are using. Additional sanctions against their Western Parking Account could also apply.
Even as one of Canada's largest Universities, Western's parking areas are limited and must be shared by upwards of 500,000 people annually. Possession of a permit does not guarantee a spot in a favorite lot. We ask that you respect the University's parking rules and regulations or consider other sustainable transportation options.

All rates include HST and are subject to change.
A fully refundable deposit of $30 is required with new permit hang tags.

Permit Durations:
Annual Permit: September 1st - August 31st.
Fall Term Permit: September 1st - December 31st.
Winter Term Permit: January 1st - April 30th.
Summer Term Permit: May 1st - August 31st.
All Student parking lots on campus are signed at the beginning entrance into the parking lot. On our Western Parking Map, they are highlighted with green and marked as following the Legend on the right side of the page. Students with active Student Parking permits can utilize a Student parking lot 24/7. Student parking permits only provide parking in Non-Reserved parking spaces.

Returning a Term or Annual Permit Early
- Students who purchase a term or annual permit and return the permit early will be charged the monthly rate for the period they held the permit for, and will no longer be eligible for the cost savings associated with the purchase of a term/annual permit.

Cut off Dates for Refund of Permits
Students returning permits after the 1st of the month will be charged for that current month.- The last day for the return of a fall term permit for partial refund is December 1st.
- The last day for the return of an annual permit for partial refund is April 1st.
- The last day for the return of a winter term permit for partial refund is April 1st.
- The last day for the return of a summer term permit for partial refund is August 1st.

Hang Tag Deposit
- The $30 hang tag deposit fee is always returned to customers with no outstanding balances on their parking account. Photo identification is required to obtain a refund.
