Other Parking Permits

Western University has many different parking permits used across campus parking lots. Information for these other types of parking permits can be found below. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Available only to Western's Retired Employees.

Retirees are issued a complimentary permit which authorizes parking in any Honk parking space or any Pay & Display space Monday to Friday. Retiree parking permits are not valid at affiliated colleges.

A fully refundable hang tag deposit of $30 will be charged at the Parking Office when picking up new permit hang tags.

Retiree permits are a benefit to the retiree and can only be used by the retired employee member it is assigned to. Active students and employees are not eligible to use retiree permits.

To get set up with a Retiree parking permit, please email wparking@uwo.ca with a document stating your official retirement date.

Commercial permits are sold on a monthly or annual basis and are available to commercial companies who conduct business on campus. It entitles the user to access any of the non-reserved spaces in any gated lot, at any meter or Pay and Display area, and 30 minutes in loading zones. Commercial firms may also use the parking facilities assigned to visitors (i.e. visitor lots, meters) and pay the stated rate.

The sale of a commercial permit must be approved in advance by both the FM Project Manager and the Manager, Parking Services.

Commercial permits must be purchased in person at the Parking Office.

Contractor permits are sold on a monthly or annual basis and are available for purchase by employees of companies conducting business on campus (eg; construction workers).  Special parking areas are assigned to contractors by Western Parking Services. Contractors are prohibited from parking in all other areas.

Contractor permits must be purchased in person at the   Parking Office.

  • A parking permit is required for all vehicles parking on campus.
  • Parking for contractors is only available in areas designated by Parking Services. Althouse/Ontario Student, Bayfield Hall, Huron Flats, Medway, Springett Staff, Westminster and West Campus parking lots are currently available for contractor parking.
  • Laydown areas are not to be used for contractor parking.  If contractors are permitted to park in laydown areas (advance approvals required from both Parking Services and FM Project Manager), a permit will still need to be purchased.
  • Supervisor parking may be allowed closer to the project site, with Western approval.  A commercial permit can be purchased and issued for these areas. These permits are typically limited to a maximum of 2 per contractor. Exceptions may be made if a company has multiple, active job sites on campus.
  • Contractor vehicles cannot park in designated Western service vehicle spaces regardless of the type of parking permit held.  Service vehicle spaces are for marked Western service vehicles only.
