The current differentiation between perimeter (grey) and core permits (orange) was established more than 30 years ago and campus has grown substantially over those years. To better reflect today’s campus, starting September 1, 2026, Parking Services will be eliminating Perimeter and Core permits and replacing them with two new permit types: Employee Reserved and Employee Non-Reserved. Rates for both will be set at the correlating Perimeter pricing, with a planned rate increase of 3% in 2026.

Here’s what this means for permit holders:

Employee Non-Reserved permit holders will be able to park in any non-reserved permit space—whether it was previously a Core or Perimeter lot.

Employee Reserved permit holders will continue with no change to designated reserved spaces in their currently assigned lot.

Further communications from Parking Services will be issued to permit holders in advance of this upcoming change during the summer of 2026.
