Minor in Health Sciences
For students in non-Health Sciences degree programs at Western, the Minor is an excellent option to complement your main area of study with core Health Sciences knowledge. Students in the Minor can expect to take courses covering health promotion, healthcare ethics, childhood and adolescent health, and health in aging populations, among several other options.
Admission Requirements:
Completion of first-year requirements including: Health Sciences 1001A/B with a mark of at least 60%; Health Sciences 1002A/B with a mark of at least 60%; and Health Sciences 1300A/B with a mark of at least 60%.
Dual Degree with the Ivey Business School
This option gives students the opportunity to complete two degrees within the space of five years. At the end of that time, students graduate with an Honors Bachelor of Health Sciences from the School of Health Studies and an Honors Business Administration Degree from the Ivey School of Business. This fast-paced program is an ideal choice for students who see themselves pursuing careers in healthcare administration, health management, and health entrepreneurship.

Certificate in Critical Public Health
The Certificate in Critical Public Health offers students a breadth of understanding of public health strategies focusing on the principles of public health, the impact of health policy on population health and global perspectives related to emerging environmental issues and social determinants of health within a changing geopolitical landscape.
Admission Requirements
- Students must achieve an average of at least 70% in the following 3.0 courses:
- 1.0 course: Health Sciences 1001A/B, Health Sciences 1002A/B.
- 1.0 course: Biology 1001A/B, Biology 1002A/B.
- 1.0 course from: Applied Mathematics 1201A/B, Calculus 1000A/B, Calculus 1301A/B, Calculus 1500A/B, Calculus 1501A/B, Data Science 1000A/B, Mathematics 1225A/B, Mathematics 1228A/B, Mathematics 1229A/B, Mathematics 1600A/B.
Enrolment in this Certificate is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
