This information applies to individuals with Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging (CCAA) Senior Fitness Instructor certification (SFIC) that expired in 2020, 2021, or is set to expire before the end of 2022.
We understand that the pandemic may have disrupted your certification. Outlined below are instructions to help you get back on track if your certification lapsed over the pandemic years of 2020-21, or if your certification expires before the end of 2022.

Note: If payment and/or documentation is required, and it is not received by Jan. 7 and Jan. 31, 2023, respectively, you will not be enrolled in the system for 2024 renewals and SFIC certification will require re-starting the SFIC training and certification process. There will be no exceptions.
Further, we will be revising the SFIC renewal process before the 2024 renewal cycle. Visit the CCAA website to learn more about the new timeline, process, and requirements.
The new process will begin in February 2024 for the following groups:
- Instructors who completed their last renewal in 2021
- Instructors who were due to complete a renewal in 2020 or 2021 but did not do so and are getting caught up by submitting requirements and payment before the deadlines outlined on this page

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the CCAA prior to Dec. 15, 2022. Due to the volume of requests we expect to receive and the holiday season, if inquiries are not submitted by Dec. 15, 2022, we cannot guarantee your questions will be answered or that your renewal or payment will be processed by the January deadlines.
