Human Research Ethics

Uphill

The human research ethics team, on behalf of Western's Research Ethics Boards (REB), manages the approval and monitoring process for the use of humans in research at the university and its affiliated hospitals and research institutes. All research involving humans conducted by faculty, staff or students at Western or its affiliated hospitals or research institutes must be approved by a Western-sanctioned review board.

**The Office of Human Research Ethics is currently working off-site and are not available for in-person meetings at this time.  If you need to contact our office please go to our Contact Us page and we will get back to you as soon as we are able**

NOTE:  Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19 there may be a delay in the review and approval of recently submitted applications beyond our documented review timelines. Should this cause concern, please correspond with the appropriate Ethics Officer via WREM correspondence.

For up to-date information regarding research during COVID-19, please see our Communication page
