Specialization in Gender and Women's Studies

Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including 1.0 Gender and Women's Studies credits at the 1000 level (either GSWS 1020E or 1.0 credits from GSWS 1021F/G, GSWS 1022F/G, GSWS 1023F/G, GSWS 1024F/G) with a mark of at least 60%, or permission of the Department. Note: Students beginning a module in Gender and Women's Studies after first year may substitute GSWS 2240F/G in place of the 1.0 first year credit requirement and take it concurrently with their second-year courses.

Module

You must complete 9.0 credits including:

  • 1.0 credit: GSWS 2220E
  • 1.0 credit: GSWS 3321F/G and GSWS 3322F/G
  • 1.0 credit in Gender and Women's Studies at the 2000-2199 level or above
  • 5.0 credits in Gender and Women's Studies at the 2200 level or above
  • 1.0 credit in Gender and Women's Studies at the 3000 level or above

A student may apply to the Department for approval to substitute up to 2.0 credits from another department provided that the courses are relevant to the student's Specialization in Gender and Women's Studies.
