Major in Gender and Women's Studies

Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including 1.0 Gender and Women's Studies (GSWS) credits at the 1000 level (either GSWS 1020E or 1.0 credits from GSWS 1021F/G, GSWS 1022F/G, GSWS 1023F/G, GSWS 1024F/G) with a mark of at least 60%, or permission of the Department. Note: Students beginning a module in Gender and Women's Studies after first year may substitute GSWS 2240F/G in place of the 1.0 first year credit requirement and take it concurrently with their second-year courses.

Module

6.0 credits including:

  • 1.0 credit: GSWS 2220E
  • 1.0 credit: GSWS 3321F/G and GSWS 3322F/G
  • 1.0 credit in Gender and Women's Studies at the 2000-2199 level or above
  • 2.0 credits in Gender and Women's Studies at the 2200 level or above
  • 1.0 credits in Gender and Women's Studies at the 3000 level or above

A student may apply to the Department for approval to substitute 1.0 credit from another department provided that the courses are relevant to the student's Major in Gender and Women's Studies.
