Lab Safety
Our undergraduate-laboratory experiments are designed to be as safe as possible. Nonetheless, university safety policy requires all faculty, staff, and students to be in the appropriate laboratory attire:
- Full-length lab coat. The short, designer lab coats or pharmacy coats do not offer sufficient protection and cannot be worn in the chemistry lab.
- Safety glasses or goggles
- Long hair tied back
- Long pants (no shorts or skirts)
- Socks
- Close-toed shoes that completely cover the upper foot, from the ankle to the toe. Sandals are not acceptable.
