Full-Time Faculty Position in Corrosion Research on Biomaterials and Nanomaterials

The Department of Chemistry at The University of Western Ontario (Western) invites applications for a new full-time faculty position in corrosion research on biomaterials and nanomaterials research. The appointment will be probationary (tenure-track) at the rank of Assistant Professor The preferred starting date of this position is July 1, 2020, or as negotiated. Full-Time Technical Specialist

Responsibilities: The Department of Chemistry seeks a Technical Specialist (Electronic Shop Technician) to assist with maintaining a state of research readiness by independently providing hands-on technical support and assistance in the operation of specialized equipment and instrumentation to support the undergraduate teaching and the performance of research in the Department of Chemistry. The Technical Specialist troubleshoots, repairs and maintains hardware, equipment and/or instrumentation, and will design, enhance and modify parts, apparatus, hardware and/or equipment as necessary to facilitate the achievement of the research objectives. 

Qualifications: 3 year Community College Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology with courses taken in telecommunications, plus 4 years of experience. See job ID 20800 for full details.


Temporary Part-time Limited Duties Appointment, Instructor Chemistry 2223B

Chemistry 2223 (Course Information). An examination of the chemistry of naturally occurring molecules, emphasizing organic compounds of importance in the Biological and Health Sciences. Prerequisite(s): Chemistry 2213A/B or 2283G. Extra Information: 3 lecture/tutorial hours delivered as On-Line Async, 1.5 laboratory hours (3 hours every other week delivered as OnLine Async), 0.5 course. Chem 2223 is intended primarily for students in Biology, and students interested in the Health or Medical Sciences.

Responsibilities. You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
