Western CIM Program
The Western Certificate in Management (Western CIM) program is for staff and leaders engaged in human resource functions, accounting or finance as part of their role. Eight courses are offered on a variety of management topics – courses are customized for Western employees. The program is delivered by Western Continuing Studies in collaboration with Talent, Learning and Engagement Services.

Living Well @ Western
Living Well @ Western is a cross-campus initiative designed to encourage and promote a wide variety of physical, cultural, and intellectual activities to improve health and wellness at Western.
ASIST
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. ASIST training at Western is delivered by certified Academic Support and Engagement staff.
ASIST 11.1 TuneUP
This half-day refresher is for those who have taken the full two-day ASIST training within the last three years. It is designed for improving participant comfort, confidence and competence in using the Pathway for Assisting Life (PAL) and to provide the community with a wider network of support. There is no fee to participate.
Mental Health - Interactive Learning Module
This online module is 30 minutes in length and provides participants with a basic understanding of Mental Health issues and of available campus and community resources. It covers the topics of Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Suicide and Eating Disorders. It is available to all Western students, faculty and staff.
safeTALK
safeTALK is a half-day alertness training that prepares participants to become a suicide-alert helper. This training will help you recognize invitations for help, engage individuals appropriately, and take action by connecting them with life-saving intervention resources. safeTALK training at Western is delivered by certified Student Success Centre staff.
Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women & Children
Western’s Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women & Children (CREVAWC) is focused on violence prevention, education and research. Online training is available at no cost to Western staff, faculty and students. Course topics include domestic and sexual violence prevention.
