Children are eligible up to age 21, or up to age 25 on the provision of evidence that the child is in school full time. Mentally or physically infirm dependent children, as defined in the benefits contract, would continue to be covered regardless of age, on provision of satisfactory evidence of the infirmity to the insurer.
When Coverage Ends
Membership continues until resignation or retirement from a full time academic appointment at the University. Where a member dies while actively enrolled in the plan with family coverage, a spouse or dependent child of the member will remain eligible for health plan coverage for 36 months following the death of the member.
