Faculty Orientation Resources
This tool is a dynamic page designed to provide information to new faculty members and librarians. This page consists of administrative information that individuals may require at some point during their academic year.Academic Policies for Faculty and Librarians
Western's Secretariats' Office lists all of the policies and procedures approved by the Board of Governors for all Western employees. Faculty and Staff will want to familiarize themselves to these policies as they oversee the govenance of Western.
Setting up Essential University Resources
Activate your Western Identity: All personnel are required to activate their western identification and to so, you will need your Western ID number provided to you by your departmental administrator.
Western ID Card: All personnel are required to have a Western Identification card. This card is essential for building access during off hours. It may also be used for Western's meal plan and parking access.
My HR: This portal is administered by Western's Human Resources and you will your username and password to access it. This portal allows you to access pay information, personal information, benefits and T4 receipts.
Health and Safety Training: All Western employees are required to complete mandatory work place modules. Additional modules may be required for positions who are in a lab setting.
IT Resources: Find information on Western's Brightspace, Helpdesk, Teams and other Western Technology Resources.

Collective Agreements
The University of Western Ontario Faculty Association represents full-time professors of the University (other than clinical faculty) and also part-time faculty with duties equivalent to teaching at least 0.5 degree credit course in each of 2 of the last 3 fiscal years.
The University of Western Ontario Faculty Agreement (UWOFA)
UWOFA-LA represents those employees of the University performing the work of librarians and archivists.
Wellness
Health and wellness supports are available to all Western employees.
As part of Western's employee benefits package, there is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provided by TELUS Health.
Western University has an Employee and Family Health Clinic open to current faculty members and their family members. New Faculty members must sign up for this clinic. Information on the clinic including registration and elibibility information may be found here.
