Periodic Table Day
February 7 is Periodic Table Day! The periodic table of the elements is the concise summary of the known elements organized in systematic and helpful way. It took centuries of work for the table as we know it to be organized and filled in to its current state. Original tables of elements had few entries, were not systematically arranged and wouldn’t be immediately recognized as a periodic table today, such as Dalton’s 1808 periodic table.
Bentley’s 1964 spiral periodic table (wiki commons) is likely the most well-known of the non-traditional representations of the elements, yet retains clear periodicity.

One of the most useful web-based periodic tables, ptable.com, powered by Wikipedia, is interactive and easily customized.
