In the first 2 weeks of May 2022, Bridget Koza travelled to Seville, Spain for a Spanish Language, Linguistics and Culture Course provided through the Language and Cultures Department and Western International. Staying in the heart of Spain Bridget immersed herself in the Andalusian culture, from watching a flamenco show and eating tapas to walking through the annual Feria de April and witnessing the breathtaking views of the city from "Las Setas" (the mushrooms).
Naomi So's internship with Western Heads East (WHE) took her for 3.5 months to Rwanda, where she contributed to improving community health, increasing economic development, and empowering women through the process of probiotic yogurt making. "It was an eye-opening experience and I'm lucky to have been a part of it."
Merdeka Miles enjoys a horseback ride during her trip to Rwanda. The Rwanda trip is the culmination of the French/SASAH course Rwanda: Culture, Society, and Reconstruction.
Julia Albert did an exchange to the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. During reading week, Julia went on a beautiful trip to the Isle of Skye with the Adventure Group.
Rachel Tersch crosses the stepped pavilion at Bolton Abbey while studying at the Leeds International Summer School (LISS) for four weeks in the summer of 2023. 2016-2019

Victoria Burnett helps to excavate the archeological site at Vindolanda, a Roman fort near Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland, England in the summer of 2019. Victoria was one of eight Western students chosen for the Vindolanda Field School, a five-week program offered through the Department of Classical Studies.

Julia Campbell enjoys the rural splendour of Ecuador during the sixteen-day Me to We Women’s Empowerment trip she participated in in July 2018.

Misha Apel stands in front of the terraced landscape of Rwanda. Misha travelled to Rwanda as a student in Prof. Henri Boyi’s Rwanda: Culture, Society, and Reconstruction course in 2016 and as the course T.A. in 2019.

Keyona Gallucci travelled to Africa in 2016 as a Western Heads East intern. Key helped to establish a sustainable probiotic yogurt kitchen at the University of Rwanda (UR) in Kigali.
