Description
Students stack cups according to several different patterns in the shortest possible time.
Participants
Individuals or pairs.
Materials
All stacking cups, timing mats, and timers are provided.
Rules
The rules for cup stacking, also known as sports stacking in the competitive world, are defined by the World Sport Stacking Association. The rule book can be downloaded from their web site. At Western's Science Olympics, prizes are awarded for the 3-6-3 competition.
Judging
The time is recorded electronically and displayed to the audience to within one hundredth of a second.
