About

Science Olympics

The Science Olympics have been a consistent spring event in Southwestern Ontario for nearly 30 years. Prior to 2020, it was led by Patrick Whippey, Professor Emeritus in Physics & Astronomy. In 2023, its facilitation was led by the Faculty of Science at Western University.

Over the course of the day, high school students have a chance to participate in over a dozen events that will test STEM knowledge and skills. When not participating or watching their teammates compete, a variety of exhibitions and displays will be available to help further spark students' interest in science.

The Science Olympics is organised by a very large number of people, who devote much time and energy to the program, both inside and outside the classroom. We thank all of you for your commitment of time, talent and enthusiasm that makes this such a great program.
