For Parents, Families, and Friends
- If you are concerned about a student’s well-being and feel they may be at risk of harm to themselves, you can arrange for them to go to CMHA Crisis Centre, 648 Huron Street, (519) 434-9191, open 24/7.
- If you are unable to reach your student and are concerned, you may request a Wellness Check. In a Wellness Check, a police constable can go to the student’s home to talk with them and assess if they need support. If the constable is concerned, they can transport the student to a facility where they can receive the support the need. If the student lives on campus, you call Western Special Constables Service at (519)-661-3300. If the student lives off campus, call London Police Service, (519) 661-5670 or 9-1-1. If you believe risk of suicide is imminent, call 9-1-1 and ask that the student be assessed for transport to Victoria Hospital, 800 Commissioners Road, (519) 685-8500, where there are Psychiatric services available 24/7.
