Major in Kinesiology (3 Year) & Honours Specialization in Nutrition & Dietetics

Students Wishing to complete this concurrent degree should enroll in the Nutrition & Dietetics program. Kinesiology course requirements are taken in place of electives in each of the five years of the concurrent program.

In order to progress into the Honours Specialization in Nutrition & Dietetics and Major in Kinesiology after first year, students must achieve the following:

  • A minimum grade of 60% in each of: Foods & Nutrition 1070A/B and Foods & Nutrition 1241A/B
  • A minimum grade of 60% in each of: Biology 1290B, Chemistry 1301A/B, Chemistry 1302A/B, Physiology 1021
  • A minimum grade of 60% in each of: Kinesiology 1060A/B, Kinesiology 1070A/B and Kinesiology 1080A/B
  • A minimum modular average of 75% in the 3.5 principal courses: Foods & Nutrition 1070A/B, Foods & Nutrition 1241A/B, Biology 1290B, Chemistry 1301A/B, Chemistry 1302A/B and Physiology 1021
  • A minimum modular average of 70% in the 2.5 principal courses: Kinesiology 1060A/B, Kinesiology 1070A/B, Kinesiology 1080A/B and Physiology 1021.
  • Students need to complete at least 1.0 courses from each of the three categories (A, B, and C). The categories and the details on breadth requirements can be found in the Western Calendar.
  • Students need to complete at least 2.0 designated essay courses, with at least 1.0 of which being senior courses (numbered 2000 - 4999). Essay credits are designated with E (1.0) or F/G/Z (0.5).
  • Essay and breadth requirements are a degree requirement and do not need to be completed in year 1.
