In the Food Science Lab, students have the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts learned in lecture to hands-on scientific experiments. You will learn about scientific techniques and research advances in areas such as food packaging, food preservation, and nutritional analysis.
An adjacent Research Lab is available to graduate students working under the supervision of faculty members focusing on food science. Faculty research interests include, but are not limited to, food microbiology (probiotics), functional foods, and oil/lipid chemistry.
