Leonard A. Piché

Leonard Piche
  • Received his PhD in Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph in 1987 and has been a Registered Dietitian since 1997.
  • Served as Professor Emeritus and previously as a Full Professor at Brescia from 1989 to 2013.
  • Developed and taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition.
  • Member of several professional organizations, including the Canadian Nutrition Society and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Co-authored research on the relationship between diet and heart disease risk and contributed to multiple editions of Mosby’s Medical Dictionary.
  • Provided expert feedback to Health Canada on nutrition labeling, the Food Guide, and other important public health issues over 100 times.
  • Has been interviewed by media outlets more than 300 times on various nutrition-related topics.
  • Current research interests include 'Supplemented Foods' and the study of dietary impacts on children's and adolescents' health behaviors.
