Eric joined Western University and Financial Services in December 2018. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), he is a Western alumnus, holding a degree in Economics and an HBA from the Ivey Business School. Prior to joining the University, Eric provided audit and assurance services as a Senior Manager with KPMG. 

In his role, Eric serves as a member of Western’s Investment Committee, Joint Pension Board, Institutional Risk Management Committee, Senate Nominating Committee, and Senate Operations/Agenda Committee. He also serves as Chair of the Committee of Financial Officers for the Council of Ontario Universities. 

Supported by a team of 55 staff and 2–5 student employees, Financial Services provides comprehensive financial support across the University. Key clients include staff, faculty, alumni, Western’s Board of Governors and its subcommittees, governing agencies, and auditors. 

Financial Services supports the finance and accounting needs of academic and administrative units, ensures compliance with university policies, and maintains and develops the University’s enterprise financial software. The team manages research grant and contract finances, overall cash management, investments, borrowing, billing, collections, and day-to-day cash flow. In addition, Financial Services oversees the procurement of goods and services, ensuring best-value purchasing, and administers Board policies and oversight responsibilities.
