Associate Vice-President (Facilities Management)

Andrew joined Western University’s Facilities Management team in 2022, bringing more than 25 years of expertise in campus planning, project delivery, and operations. He holds both a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Manitoba. 

Before coming to Western, Andrew served as Associate Vice-President (Administration) at the University of Manitoba, where he led major initiatives in infrastructure and campus development. His deep understanding of institutional environments and commitment to sustainable design continue to shape his work at Western. 

Supported by a team of more than 450 professionals, the Facilities Management division plays a central role in shaping Western University’s campus environment—ensuring it remains safe, sustainable, and conducive to teaching, research, and community life. The division encompasses Building Services, Business Operations, Facilities Development & Engineering, Facilities Operations, and Sustainability. Together, these departments oversee the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and stewardship of Western’s buildings, infrastructure, and grounds. 

Managing more than 10 million square feet of space across 100+ buildings and 16 kilometers of roadways and walkways, the team’s efforts help maintain Western’s reputation as one of the most beautiful campuses in Canada.
