Strategic Initiatives

Operations & Finance Strategic Plan: EPIC - As we look to the future, we envision Operations & Finance continuing to make significant contributions to Western University’s mission and objectives. Building on our team’s strengths and track record of success, and in response to Towards Western at 150, our new strategic plan, EPIC, is our commitment to ‘Empower People and Inspire Change.’ It represents our determination to unite and mobilize the diverse talents, passions, and expertise of our staff and leaders to amplify our collective impact on the communities we serve. The plan recognizes the importance of innovation, agility, and collaboration, and inspires us to think creatively, be proactive, and take action to create positive change. With EPIC as our roadmap, we are confident that Operations & Finance will continue to play a crucial role in supporting Western’s aspirations and achieving its vision.

Western’s campus is a defining element of the university experience—shaping how we learn, work, connect, and grow. As the needs of our community evolve, so too must our approach to planning and stewarding our physical environment.

The update of our Campus Development Strategy (formerly the Campus Master Plan) and advancement of our Open Space Strategy will guide the future of our built and natural spaces. These strategies will inform how we develop, enhance, and preserve our campus over the coming years, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, sustainability goals, and the needs of our diverse community.

We encourage you to review and consider the resources and materials provided on the consultation webpage. Feedback will be received until May 18, 2026. Learn More.
