Eric joined Western and Financial Services in December, 2018. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), Eric is a Western alumnus with an Economics degree and HBA from the Ivey Business School. Prior to joining the University, he provided audit and assurance services as a Senior Manager with KPMG. Eric also serves as an Executive Committee member for the Committee of Financial Officers, Council of Ontario Universities.

Financial Services responsibilities include Treasury & Investments, Corporate Accounting, Research Finance, Procurement Services and Financial Systems.

Financial Services

Team Size: Financial Services has a staff of 55, plus 2-5 students.

Key Clients: Staff, faculty, alumni, Western’s Board of Governors and Subcommittees of the Board, Governing Agencies, and Auditors.

Main Services: Financial Services (FS) supports the finance and accounting requirements of academic and administrative units, and monitors compliance with University policies. The unit also: maintains and develops the University’s enterprise financial software; supports the research community in the financial management of research grants and awarded contracts; the overall cash management function for the University; and is responsible for investments, borrowing, billing, collections and day-to-day cash flow needs. In addition, FS facilitates the best-value procurement of goods and services, and is responsible for oversight and management of Board policies.
