TykeTALK is a program of prevention, early identification, and treatment of speech and language disorders in preschool children.

As part of the Preschool Speech and Language Initiative of the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, tykeTALK provides community education, assessment and treatment services. tykeTALK also provides treatment services for children who have permanent hearing loss, in collaboration with the Infant Hearing Program. tykeTALK services are provided at no cost.

The H. A. Leeper Clinic is one of the service provider agencies for tykeTALK, and home to a team of speech-language pathologists who provide tykeTALK services. All of our speech-language pathologists are registered members of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). tykeTALK SLP’s also participate in clinical education of students in the speech-language pathology program. These students may take part in the assessment and treatment of tykeTALK clients. Read the tykeTALK Parent Letter for more information.

Because tykeTALK is a partnership of agencies, more information on our special program is available at the main tykeTALK website.
