Avoid all non-essential travel
To limit the spread of COVID-19, the Government of Canada advises avoiding all non-essential travel outside of Canada until further notice.
For travellers arriving in Canada
The Government of Canada has put in place emergency measures that require mandatory 14-day self-isolation for all persons entering Canada, even if they do not have COVID-19 symptoms.
To protect the health, safety and wellness of the university community, Western has cancelled future university-sanctioned international travel for all students until September 1, 2020. This includes exchange, study abroad, faculty-led programs, internships, research placements, community-engaged learning, practicums, conferences or any other international travel that is approved by a Western faculty member, department, staff member, Faculty, or non-academic unit. This applies to all students – undergraduate, graduate, professional or other.
Western recommends students abroad make arrangements to return to Canada as soon as possible. More information can be found at https://international.uwo.ca/learning/safety_abroad/FAQ_COVID-19.html.
