Special Interest Module 1: Equitable Research Partnerships
This module equips you with practical tips, tools, and strategies to engage and co-create research with diverse, equity-deserving partners for more impactful, community-driven outcomes. The content presented in this module was developed in partnership with Changing Ways, Middlesex London Ontario Health Team, Pillar Nonprofit Network, and Rotary Club of South London.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Describe the benefits of diverse research partnerships;
- Reflect on your positionality by identifying the motivations behind your research interests;
- Identify diverse and underrepresented non-academic groups and communities in London and the surrounding areas that are historically excluded from research;
- Identify common missteps and challenges when building research relationships with diverse groups; and
- Understand the importance of collaborative, co-creative, and tailored practices to facilitate partnered research.
