Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite
The Earth Sciences Department at Western is currently in the process of creating the Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite - a suite of rooms to house our mineral and ore deposit collections, the Dana and Suffel Collections. It has been over twenty years since the collections have had a proper home, and this area will allow for greater access to the collections by faculty, staff, students, alumni, industry and the general public. In addition, the Earth Sciences Department has hired Dr. Alysha McNeil, a recent graduate from our department, to curate the facility. Alysha has been working alongside Dr. Rob Schincariol (Infrastructure Chair) and four work study students to facilitate the move from the current storage location in the Somerville House tunnel to the new Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite in North Campus Building.
