A paper by Prof. Alison Doherty and colleague Dr. Graham Cuskelly (Griffith University, Australia) was selected for the Best Paper Proceedings at the 2012 Academy of Management Meeting held in Boston, MA.
The paper, entitled "Organizational capacity and anticipated growth in nonprofit voluntary community sport organizations" was rated in the top 10% of conference papers.

Dr. Packianathan Chelladurai, Western Professor Emeritus, was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws from Western at the Spring 2012 Convocation.
The citation was read by Dr. Karen Danylchuk and "Chella" was hooded by Dr. Alison Doherty.

Professor Alison Doherty was honoured at the 2012 North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) conference in Seattle with the Dr. Earle F. Zeigler Lecture Award and the Dr. Garth Paton Distinguished Service Award. Read more on her accomplishments here.
