The Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite has a public afternoon at the suite once a month. Our next events are scheduled for:

Saturday, May 11th 2024 - Science Rendezvous from 2pm-9pm at Western University's Alumni Stadium

Booking your private event at the R. W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite with our Geoscience Collections Curator

Are you interested in booking your own private event at the R. W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite with our Geoscience Collections Curator as your guide to Earth's treasures? Are you looking for an enjoyable afternoon with family, friends or colleagues, or looking to celebrate a special event surrounded by some of Earth’s geological wonders? Then please consider booking your own private event at the Hutchinson Suite! Events are able to accommodate up to 50 people. There is limited availability and the costs for booking a private event at the Hutchinson Suite are outlined below.

Hourly rates for private events:

Monday - Friday between 9am-5pm: External $200/hr; Internal $125/hr 

Saturday or Sunday between 9am-5pm: External $300/hr; Internal $225/hr. 

The external rate is applicable to members of the general public, and the internal rate is applicable to members of the Western University community, such as faculty or staff. The Hutchinson Suite is currently not available for bookings after 5pm. 

The Hutchinson Suite has tables able to seat up to 30 people, and 40 chairs available for use during events. We also have an AV system (computer, projector and speakers) and a research grade microscope connected to the projector system. 

The availability of private events depends on staff availability and scheduling. Payment is due prior to the event to reserve your date.
