Over the fall and winter terms, you'll have extensive opportunities to connect with industry professionals through structured networking events and employer-focused activities. These experiences are designed to help you expand your professional network, engage with potential employers and build the confidence needed to position yourself effectively in today’s competitive job market.

Throughout the academic year, you'll participate in hands-on industry engagement through your courses. By working on real-world cases and consulting projects with actual clients, you'll develop practical problem-solving abilities and gain insight into how organizations operate. These applied learning experiences strengthen business acumen and prepare you to create meaningful impact in professional settings.

Through professional seminars focused on the environmental sector, as well as individual and group interviewing, career coaching and alumni speakers and mentors, you'll develop the skills and strategies needed for success in your job search, co-op roles and future career journey.

During the first eight months of the program, alongside core courses, you'll develop professional and interpersonal competencies before gaining valuable work experience in your co-op term during the final four months. You'll build employability and job search skills through professional career management sessions, as well as individual and group coaching.

You'll also develop cultural competency through sessions and workshops focused on the impacts of racism, allyship principles, thriving in diverse work teams, inclusive leadership, Indigenous consultation and perspectives. These experiences prepare you to foster inclusion and respectful relationships with Indigenous Peoples in academic, research and workplace settings.
