Inclusion Training
Throughout the graduate program, you'll complete two integrated milestones focused on Inclusion Training and Indigenous Allyship, building the knowledge and competencies required to work responsibly, respectfully and ethically in your future career.
Inclusion in the Workplace
Through collaborative learning, certificates, speakers and engaging sessions, you'll develop the understanding and strategies needed to foster and advance inclusion within workplaces and teams. Learning includes thriving in diverse work teams, inclusive leadership, working across global teams, allyship principles and workplace inclusion strategies.
You'll complete the Anti-Racism Foundations Certificate through Western University, a four-module certificate examining the following topics:
- Historical and current racism in Canada
- Unconscious biases
- Power and privilege
- Microaggressions
- Microinterventions
- Allyship principles
Upon completion, you'll receive a certificate and a digital badge for LinkedIn, and the credential will be recorded on your co-curricular record.
Indigenous Allyship
You'll have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the historical and ongoing impacts of racism on Indigenous Peoples on Turtle Island. You'll develop commitments and allyship principles to foster meaningful and respectful relationship with Indigenous Peoples in research, consultation and workplaces.
You'll engage in this learning through:

- Indigenous-authored readings
- Engaging sessions
Learning includes the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action, allyship strategies across industry sectors, meaningful consultation, reconciliation in workplaces, Indigenous perspectives, braiding principles in conservation and climate action, research ethics and data sovereignty.
You'll complete the Unpacking and Addressing Anti-Indigenous Racism Certificate through Western University, examining historical and current racism, decolonial practices, allyship principles and cultural competency in Indigenous communities.
