Biography
Lu Han is a scholar of Latin American and Latinx literature and visual art. Her teaching and research interests include speculative fiction, extreme and extractive geographies (outer space, polar regions, and coastlines), decolonial thought & practice, and Asian diasporas in the Americas. In addition to her scholarly publications on Caribbean science fiction and Mexican visual & media culture, she has contributed writing on contemporary Latinx art to several cultural platforms, focusing on diasporic communities and their relationships to material and ecological environments across lines of race, gender, and class. She received her Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from Cornell University in 2026 and previously worked as an Assistant Curator at the Power Station of Art in Shanghai.
