Campus Safety and Emergency Services brings together specialized teams that support safety, prevention, emergency preparedness, response and community well-being across Western.
Each service area has a distinct role while working collaboratively to provide coordinated support for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
Western Special Constable Service
Campus patrol, emergency and non-emergency response, Work Safe services, lost property support, and assistance with safety concerns on campus.
Fire Safety
Fire prevention, education, inspections, drills, fire code compliance, and fire safety planning for Western University.
Foot Patrol
Safe walking services and community-based safety support during the academic year, operating from September 1 to April 30.
From May 1 to August 31, the Work Safe Program is fully run through the Western Special Constable Service.
Emergency Management & Continuity of Operations
Emergency planning, preparedness, response coordination, business continuity, and institutional resilience support.
Coordinated Support
Our service areas share information, coordinate planning and work together when an incident or concern requires support from more than one team.
Campus Partnerships
CSES also works with campus departments, student services, facilities teams and external emergency responders to support prevention, preparedness and response.
