Founded in 2008, the Rotman Institute of Philosophy is a globally recognized centre for philosophical engagement with science. The Institute’s team of researchers pursue fundamental questions about how science works, and the nature and ethical use of scientific knowledge. Graduate students studying in the Department of Philosophy at Western with research interests in philosophy and science (including epistemology, ethics or history of science) are eligible to apply for membership Graduate Student members are expected to participate in Institute sponsored talks, conferences, public outreach events, and reading & working groups, and to involve themselves in ongoing research projects in cooperation with Institute faculty, postdoctoral fellows, visiting fellows, and graduate students members.
