In certain situations, Faculties/Departments are required to provide proof of General Liability insurance to external organizations. A Certificate of Insurance is generally held to be sufficient documentary evidence of an in force insurance policy.
Certificates are most commonly requested for students on work placements as part of their studies at Western and for University sponsored events held off Western premises.
Requests for certificates must be received directly from Faculties/Departments. In some situations, a copy of an agreement/contract will be requested from the Corporate Insurance office before a certificate can be issued.
