Analytical Services Updates
February 2026 - Biotron's Analytical Services is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Shimadzu total organic carbon analyzer to our array of analytical equipment. The Analytical Services laboratory is located on the lower ground floor of the Biotron. Providing analytical services for students, staff and faculty members on campus as well as researchers from other universities, government agencies and industries who need to know the chemical composition of a wide range of materials, from air to zooplankton.
The laboratory is a fully equipped, central analytical laboratory with state-of-the-art instrumentation including inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry, cold vapour atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (for mercury and methyl mercury), direct mercury analysis system, CHNS analyzer, and a total organic carbon analyzer.
Our technicians are highly skilled and able to assist you in your research goals. Be it questions regarding your samples or assistance on your lab equipment, we are here to help.
