International observe the Moon night

This annual event takes place in September or October, when the Moon is around first quarter – a great phase for evening observing. A first quarter Moon offers excellent viewing opportunities along the terminator (the line between night and day), where shadows bring the Moon’s cratered landscape to life.

This special event runs all day with something for everyone – bring the family out in the afternoon or join us for a regular public night in the evening.

FREE admission, no registration required! Drop in for any part of the day.

Venue: Cronyn Observatory, Western University
Date: Saturday, September 19th, 2026
Time: 2:00 to 11:00 pm (with a break from 6:00 to 7:00 pm)
We hope to see you there.
