Future Prof Workshop: Universal Design for Learning (UDL) I
Session Description
One of the ways that instructors and teaching assistants can support student engagement and learning is by proactively considering how they might embed accessibility into their courses. This session provides an introduction to the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, which offers a number of recommendations for accessible teaching by inviting multiple means of student engagement, content representation, and student action and expression. In this workshop, participants will learn more about the development of UDL through the years, identify possible barriers to engagement in the classroom, and explore ways they can include multiple means of engagement in their courses, labs, and tutorials. Future workshops on multiple means of representation and multiple means of action and expression are forthcoming in the winter semester.
